It’s 2012!

When and how did that happen?

I don’t agree with New Year’s resolutions because I think if you want to do something or change then you should do it whenever you want to do it.

Although I have set myself some ideas/ aims for the next couple of months..

I will do more reading for classes

I have opened up an ISA and so I will actually save three quarters of my money from work for special things.

I will take even more photos and buy lenses and make pretty photos and maybe do a course in photography.

And I will continue to write more. Because I like writing.

Oh. and the big one. After graduation. I will get a job. Yeah the last one should be interesting. Someone hire me?

I have another blog for journalism stuff like my photos and things.

Look it up!

I miss Hong Kong.

My auntie and Uncle gave me this album for Christmas back in 2004. I didn’t like it at first and then one day I gave it another chance and it was the best thing I had ever heard at the time.
Five months later and I was seeing them play it in full when they supported U2 in Cardiff. I jumped up and down like a loon.

It suddenly hit me today that no one is really going to understand my life in Hong Kong when they ask. The only people that will live thousands of miles away.

As the thunder and lightening crashes over our residence halls I can’t help but think Hong Kong could have given us some of that sun we love for our last day.

And yes, today is my last day in Hong Kong. How do I feel? Torn. Hong Kong was familiar to me when I got here so it’s grown to be my home and I adore the friends I have made here. Without them the Hong Kong experience would half only been half as good as it has been.

So what is the point of this post? I love this city. I love the people, I love the bright shimmering lights, I like the transport system and I adore places like sham shui po. I am not sure what my future holds for me but I know that Hong Kong will be involved at some point.

Coming here has shaped me into a better person with new incredible international friends. I can’t wait to jump on that plane to NYC and see my two Hong Kong besties. But for now, i’m off to see my family in Australia.
